01_Mbousnack Gourbane Group's story

This banc villageois has existed since January 1998. It is comprised of seven brave and dynamic woman, who are all from the same village. They are joined through kinship, friendship, and solidarity. They have repaid several loans on schedule. The women mainly work in commerce.

The woman, Amy, who is 62 years old is the representative of the group. She is seated in the center to the left of the photo with her hand raised. She is married and the mother of two children, who are grown.

Amy works selling groundnuts and millet. She procures her stock at wholesale in the weekly markets and then resells it at partial wholesale and at retail from her home. She benefits from a good experience of more than 30 years in this sector.

With her loan, she is going to buy groundnuts, millet, and beans, which she will resell with a good profit margin. She is able to sell her stock easily, as it is very sought-after by farmers.

Profits allow her to take care of her expenses, increase her savings, and support her children.
