Drita's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for the purchase of seeds, fertilizers, and sowing and planting for the upcoming planting season. The loan will help her to keep providing for her family.

Drita's story

Drita is a 41-year-old farmer from south Albania. She is a married and happy mother of a 4 year old daughter. She lives with her husband, her daughter and her elderly parents-in-law, in a well-arranged village house.

For the moment her husband has emigrated to Greece to work. They live very near the Greek border and for the men it is more profitable to go and work there in agriculture, rather than running their own farm.

This means it is Drita who has to run their little farm for the moment. She plants different vegetables for selling, mainly onion and potatoes. Their region is very famous for these two crops. She also has two cows from which she sells the raw milk daily, and once per year the calves.

Drita is hoping, for the first time, for Kiva lenders support. Her loan will pay for the purchase of seeds, fertilizers, and sowing and planting for the upcoming planting season so that she will keep providing for her family.

Her parents-in-law, even though retired, try to help her with as much as they can.
