Joyce's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Joyce's Group's story

Pictured above is Joyce, often described as an extremely hard-working individual. She is 52 years old and has five children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of eight farmers in Matete district, Kenya.

Joyce is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again as this means that she is able to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Joyce says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2016, she has had a healthier life due to better nutrition, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Joyce will use the profits from this season to invest in a business.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 6.25 acres. With this loan, the group will also receive a total of one solar light.
