A loan helped to pay for construction to renovate his old house.

Mut's story

Mut, aged 51, is an experienced construction worker from a rural village of Kampot province. He has been in the construction business for more than three years and also works as a paid laborer for additional income. He has a common-law relationship with his wife, who is a loving mother of two children.

At home, Mut has been operating a small convenience shop, offering many types of products, including grocery items, snack foods, sweets, powders, canned food, noodles, and miscellaneous household things, to local people in his community. Mut and his wife make a suitable income of 10 US dollars (USD) per day, from which they can cover their daily costs. Mut also raises some poultry and sells to local traders for additional income.

Because of the shortage of finances, he has applied for a loan in the amount of 2,000 USD to pay for construction to renovate his old house. With this loan support, he will have money to purchase construction supplies such as bricks, zinc and cement, and pay for laborers. This renovation is very important for his family members so that they can live with a comfortable living standard and good environment. It also can protect his family members from the effects of the crisis of climate change, such as rain.

Pictured here with his wife, Mut sends thanks to all lenders who have contributed their funds to help a poor fellow like him.
