Emily's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Emily's Group's story

Pictured above is Emily, often described as an extremely reliable person. She is 45 years old and has seven children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of eight farmers in Alego District, Kenya.

Emily is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again because this will ensure she is able to earn enough to feed her family, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Emily says that she is happy to have first joined in 2016, because she has been able to consistently feed her family since then, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Emily will use the profits from this season to send her children to school.

Her group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 7.5 acres. Given that some members of the group will also be purchasing solar lights with this loan, the group will also receive four solar lights.
