A loan helped to buy another dairy cow to improve milk production and earn more profit.

Florence's story

Florence is a 65-year-old mother who lives in Kakamega, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and vast agricultural enterprises. She's been a mixed dairy and crop farmer 21 years, enabling her to comfortably support her family. Dairy farming is one of the most profitable business ventures in her remote village.

Juhudi Kilimo’s partnership with Kiva is an effective tool for reducing poverty in Kenya, especially among women, the central "actors" in rural areas.

She's taking this loan to buy another dairy cow to improve milk production and earn more profit. Florence is hopeful Kiva lenders will respond positively to her loan request.
