Helida's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Helida's Group's story

Pictured above is Helida, often described as an extremely hard-working individual. She is 45 years old and has 10 children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of 8 farmers in Alego District, Kenya.

Helida is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again as this means that she is able to earn enough to feed her family, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Helida says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2018, she has had more profits from each harvest. This has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Helida will use the profits from this season to invest in a business.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 3.5 acres. Some members of the group will also be purchasing a total of 1 solar light.
