A loan helped to hire a transport means that she will use to transport her perishable products to the market.

Pamela's story

Pamela, a 33-year-old mom of two school-going children, has never felt sorry for herself for a lack of a formal secondary education. She uses her natural abilities to pull herself out of poverty and has never lost her enthusiasm.

Pamela is a crop farmer. In Chuka, Kenya, agriculture is one of the most competitive industries, especially due to the high cost of operations necessary to improve farming. Such costs include the cost of land and farm inputs, which are always rising.

Pamela has a challenge of transporting her farm produce to the market. After learning about Juhudi Kilimo, she applied for this loan to use in hiring a transport means that she will use to transport her perishable products to the market.

Unlike local money lenders who charge exorbitant interests on loans, Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva have entered into a partnership that aims at improving the lives of smallholder farmers by providing them with loans and encouraging them to save. Through this intervention, movement of funds in rural communities has increased, thereby alleviating poverty. Please support this woman to achieve her dreams today!
