Muong Phang 50 Group's story

Giot, born in 1997, is a Thai ethnic woman. She is married and has one daughter and a pair of twins. Her family lives in a small house on stilts in the northwest mountainous region of Vietnam, where agriculture is the mainstay.

In Giot’s family, the husband earns the main income, while Giot works in agricultural production activities such as growing rice, growing vegetables and raising fish to bring in more income.

Giot knows that Anh Chi Em program is an organization that provides small loans to poor people, especially women living in remote areas. For capital to invest in fish farming, Giot has decided to seek a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to buy fingerlings. She has two years of experience in fish farming.

Her dream is to see her family move out of poverty and have a better future by selling fish and other agricultural products. In the photo, Giot stands at the first from the right.
