Venaline's story

Venaline is a 39-year-old single mom of 2 school going children living in Litein, a town that hosts a number of elite athletes in Kenya.

Venaline supports her family through mixed dairy and crop farming, work that she has been practicing for the past many years. Through farming, she has sent all her children to school.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat on the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, are on the forefront in combating this pandemic through supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs at this difficult period.

Venaline is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs so she can improve her tea crop farm production and make more income to support her family during this tough economic recession.
