Klara's story

This wonderful young woman Klara is 37 years old, married, and raising two children. She has a secondary education. As the main source of income for her family she has been working with livestock and agriculture since 2000. Thanks to Klara's hard work and the help of her husband on the field, her farm today has 3 cows, 10 sheep, and 6.10 hectares of irrigated land where she grows organic potatoes, barley, alfalfa, and wheat.

In order to further develop her farm, she is asking for support from the Kiva foundation in the amount of 200,000 som (KGS) to buy seeds and fertilizer and to buy livestock with the goal of icnreasing her income from raising livestock and selling organic meat. Proceeds from the loan will help her to expand her farm by increasing the size of her herd of pedigreed cattle and to build a new home.
