Rachel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase plastic storage containers and baking ingredients to stock up her kitchen and increase her income.

Rachel's story

Rachel is a 65-year-old mother of six. All her children are working.

She is happily married. Her husband is a retired aircraft maintenance technician who unfortunately had a minor stroke a couple of years ago.

She lives with her husband and few of her children in their own home, which is 10 minutes drive to Port Vila city.

Rachel's community is small, and the main industry is food. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been quite alright for one to make income.

Rachel has requested a loan to help her purchase plastic storage containers and baking ingredients that are to be used so she can make delicious cakes for her customers to increase her income.

She wants to increase her stock to better provide for her customers' constant demand of her mouthwatering, moist cakes.

This will help increase her revenue, which she will save up to support herself and her husband for any future medical expenses.

Rachel has been baking most of her life. She learnt it all from her mother. She has now been in this business for over 20 years.

This is Rachel's second loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has been outstanding in her first loan repayments.

Through her loans, Rachel is empowered to expand her business so she does not have to rely on anyone for financial help.
