La Esperanza Community-Owned Bank Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to provide working capital for a rural women-owned community bank.

La Esperanza Community-Owned Bank Group's story

Meet the community bank of La Esperanza!
This group is located in rural Honduras, Francisco Morazan State.

La Esperanza Community Bank is a women-led Community Bank that was founded back in 2014 and since then they have been working towards providing financial services to the members of the community bank and to their neighbours in the community of Agua Blanca. The main services of this rural community bank are saving accounts and micro-loans alongside financial literacy training in a region that has been historically excluded from basic financial services.

Today, this community bank is applying to access a loan to be able to fund different micro-loan requests from local women entrepreneurs that are reactivating and recovering from the pandemic-related economic crisis and growing their micro-enterprises in the community. The main goal of the La Esperanza Community Bank is to see its community develop and provide financial resources to boost opportunities to its members and La Esperanza region.

Thank you for contributing to the economic development of rural communities of Honduras and supporting women-led businesses.
