Margret's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, as well as a solar light.

Margret's Group's story

Margret's Group is formed by 6 farmers in Alego District and is being represented by Margret, who is the group leader pictured above. She is 58 years old and has 6 children. Margret has been a farmer for more than 20 years and is often referred to as a very trustworthy person.

Margret isn’t new to One Acre Fund, she actually joined the program in 2019 and has since noticed her life has changed; especially in the sense that she has had more profits from each harvest ever since.

This year, Margret will not only get fertilizer and maize seeds as part of her loan, but will also purchase a solar light. She is very excited about this addition since now she will be able to have light during the night in order to feel safer.

Using this loan, Margret's Group will purchase a total of 5 solar lights and use the farming inputs received to plant a total of 1 acres.
