Betty's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy high-nutrient fertilizers to scale up her crop production, reduce operation costs, and make more income to support her family.

Betty's story

Juhudi Kilimo would like to celebrate mothers who are smallholder farmers!

To lead a comfortable lifestyle has always been the dream of Betty(29), a hardworking rural farmer who works with a lot of attention and perseverance to achieve her objectives. Today, she has a farm where she grows crops and raises livestock; she also earns some income from another personal business.

Betty never had a formal college education and is content with the farming lifestyle. Through farming she has been able to earn a decent income. Betty is the major breadwinner of her family, and this really pushes her to work hard so that her children will have a bright future, and her parents will have a comfortable life.

Betty is seeking a loan of 30,000 KES that she will use to buy certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizers to expand her crop farm. By scaling up her business, she will relatively reduce production costs and increase output. Her strategy is to use the returns from the investment to pay for more farm inputs, the lack of which is a major problem that leads to the closing down of many farms due to poor quantity and quality of yields. She will therefore be able to increase her profits. This will elevate her standard of living, as well as that of her beautiful family.
