Esteban's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to plant enough ginger to become a major supplier to a supermarket chain.

Esteban's story

Esteban is a 29-year-old entrepreneur and teacher from the community of Ipeti Colono. He is a hardworking individual with 10 years of experience in the organic ginger farming market. Over the course of the last four years, he has begun working on his own, doing remarkably well with the resources at hand. The quality of his product has been rated one of the best in Panama by engineers and has gathered much interest from the supermarket chain industry. Esteban comes from a family of entrepreneurs; his two brothers are also in agriculture and motivated him to invest in his family's future.

Esteban is asking for a $3,000 loan to purchase additional ginger seeds. He will repay the loan monthly over the next two years. Currently, he is in the process of gathering enough seed to expand his farm to meet the demand for his product that has increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is preparing his farm for the upcoming season to supply two supermarket chains with his product. The target is to grow 500 sacks of ginger.

Esteban’s dream is to one day expand his farm to export his high-quality product; however, it all starts with gathering the funds to take advantage of his opportunity in the supermarkets of Panama. This loan is special because it would enable him to grow enough ginger to become a major supplier to a supermarket chain.
