A loan helped to purchase more men's T-shirts, ladies dresses, trousers and skirts for sale.

Lillian's story

Lillian is 22 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe in the Kawempe region of Uganda. For the past 4 years, Lillian has been working hard to manage her Boutique, which sells all kinds of men's and lady's clothes.

To help expand her business, Lillian has requested a loan of 1200000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more men's T-shirts, ladies dresses, trousers and skirts for sale. It will help Lillian to generate greater profits and improve on the standards of living by providing enough food for her family and take care of her siblings. Lillian hopes that in the future she will be able to to become a fashion designer.

Lillian is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small Group members like Lillian who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
