Doña Maria is a very hard-working woman and mother of 3 children. She is 57 years old and for various years has a small grocery store, which she has been investing in for improve her family's economic situation. Her husband works repairing radios. Maria began her business with the help of her sister, who sent her a consignment from the United States. This was very beneficial for Maria, and later with financing she was able to expand her products, such as cosmetics, to sell more. At the moment things are difficult, as prices have gone up, and customers are purchasing less. Many times people go to the distributors which is more convenient for them, but not for business owners. With this loan Maria wants to purchase quantities of rice, beans, sugar, maize, lollies, and a variety of creams, lipsticks, make-up and hair dyes, and other items that generate earnings, increase sales and allow her to pay her costs.
