Ella's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase retail goods to stock her small kitchen shop to provide for her neighboring customers and increase her income.

Ella's story

Ella is a 37-year-old mother of three. Her children are 16, 12 and 7 years old. She is happily married and her husband is unemployed but very helpful with her business. She lives with her family in their own home, which is located 20 kilometres from Port Vila city. Ella lives in a small village, and the main industry is agriculture. Although Covid-19 has impacted Vanuatu, making an income off agriculture has been satisfactory as the locals demand for local food has been good.

Ella has requested a loan to help her purchase retail goods with which she will stock her small kitchen shop to better provide for her customers. Being located far from the city, has given her the privilege to open her own kitchen shop, which has helped her community as there are no shops around.

With the earned revenue, she will complete her unfinished house and start her home units. Ella started her shop back in 2019. Eventually, she would like to have a storefront so she can sell her goods in a place where locals and visitors pass by.

This is Ella's third loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has been faithful in her previous loan repayments. Through her loans, Ella is empowered to expand her business so she can become a successful businesswoman.
