Maria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a solar freezer system for her small grocery business.

Maria's story

Maria lives in a community in Colon in Honduras. She is 58 years old and since she was young she has been a farmer and rancher together with her husband. She is an enterprising woman, for which reason and through her own efforts she now has a little business where she sells food and other products for general use. With the goal of expanding her business she has incorporated sales of dairy products, meat, soft drinks, ice, and other products which require refrigeration.

But there is a limiting factor, since there is no access to electricity in the area where Maria and her family live. So she has to stock up and keep these products in iceboxes, which is very costly since she has to buy ice daily, and the expense is reflected in her earnings. This is why she is applying for a loan through Soluz Honduras for the acquisition of a solar freezer system, which will help her serve her customers better, and above all she will not have the expense of buying ice as well as covering long distances to purchase the ice. In this way her business will have increased earnings and her customers will be satisfied.
