Monica Lucinda's story

Mónica is 47 years old. She lives in the rural town of Cahuasqui. The primary occupation in her small community is farming and raising cattle.

Mónica is married and has two children. She lives in a house that was her parents. They bequeathed it to her husband.

Mónica and her husband have always worked in agriculture. They have also worked as day laborers in the area. They have a tractor and use it to provide plowing services. These jobs have allowed them to generate income and meet their household expenses.

Mónica and her husband made the decision to plant pole beans, but didn't have sufficient financial resources. For that reason she seeks a loan to buy fertilizers and fungicides, and to pay for labor for the bean cycle.

Mónica works a great deal in order to provide schooling to her children and improve the household income. She is grateful for the support and confidence being provided to her. She is excited because she will be able to continue planting and to offer a quality product. This will increase her earnings so she can provide a better quality of life to her family.
