Caroline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and certified seeds, to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and improve her living conditions.

Caroline's story

Wonderful Kiva lenders, meet Caroline, a mom born in 1987 who has 3 school-going children. A practical and resourceful woman, she is not the kind of person who can easily slack off, so she remains focused to make major accomplishments for her family.

Caroline lives in a remote village in the Kapsowar area of Kenya. This area is very fertile, with favourable weather patterns that support farming activities.

Caroline has a farm, where she grows crops and raises livestock. She also earns some income from a personal business.

She is seeking a 40,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner, Juhudi Kilimo. She will use it to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and certified seeds, to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around Kapsowar, are very challenging. Caroline feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva and the wonderful lenders that help hardworking women like her. She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions, but her biggest dream is to become independent.

Caroline is so thankful to her lenders in advance.
