Melinda's story

Melinda is 43 years old, married, and has five children. She and her family live in a community in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

Melinda runs a small general store business in her community where she sells rice, noodles, canned foods, and sugar so that she can earn a living. She has been in this business for four years.

Melinda requested a new loan to buy additional bags of rice, noodles, biscuits, canned foods, and sugar so that she can continue to operate her business. She plans to use her profits to meet her family’s financial needs and to improve her business.

Melinda joined SPBD in 2017.
