El Consuelo Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming supplies and pay for labor.

El Consuelo Group's story

Mary is 29 years old and a mother of one child. At the age of 24, she started working in coffee production. After working for some time with her parents in agriculture, she inherited a plot of coffee. In total, she cultivates 1.5 plots, which includes a half plot owned by her partner. They are able to produce 15 loads of coffee. In addition, she teaches classes two time a week.

In her previous loan cycle with FUNDENUSE, Mary used the Kiva funds to buy supplies and pay for labor. She obtained good yields from her coffee harvest because she applied farming inputs in a timely manner. Mary is requesting another loan to buy supplies and pay for labor. Her next goal is to buy a motorcycle since there are times when there is an urgent need to travel to other places.

Mary is a member of the solidarity group “El Consuelo” with Ervin and Marlene, who are also coffee growers.
