Elizabeth's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cereals to sell to her customers in order to earn extra income to support her children, who are in school.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth, who is a 54-year-old mom of two school-going children, is very happy for an opportunity to share her profile on this Kiva platform.

Elizabeth is a warrior woman from Vihiga, a town that hosts a number of elite athletes in Kenya. Elizabeth is a responsible and diligent smallholder farmer from a remote village. She is involved in dairy and maize/corn farming, and she also has a "side hustle" business. Her work brings home important income. She gets help with the work from her family members.

Being the major breadwinner in her house, Elizabeth decided to start a cereal business with a loan that she obtained from Juhudi Kilimo. The business is growing, and she is getting new customers.

Elizabeth is very creative and has the ability to come up with unique new responses to situations. She has the insight to recognize and take up useful new approaches to farming. Elizabeth is seeking this loan to buy cereals to sell to her customers and thereby earn extra income to support her children, who are in school. Kenya's Vihiga area, one of the country's populated regions, has a high demand for cereals. This means that Elizabeth can increase her profits and satisfy the demand that is there.

Accessing funds has been a challenge for Elizabeth, but since she joined Juhudi, in partnership with Kiva, she feels relieved and happy that her life has transformed. Kindly lend to this determined woman.
