A loan helped to expand her business.

02-Cedron Group's story

The 02-Cedron communal bank, as part of the 3 de Mayo regional office, is made up of nine members who are friends and run by a board of directors of which Kenia is the president. The loan they're getting will benefit small-business entrepreneurs like Kenia.

Currently she has a business selling food. She said she learned this business from her family because it's a family business.

The loan she's getting will be to expand her capital for a purchase of rice, noodles and oil that she'll get from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz, then she will prepare and sell them in her stall.

This type of work enables her to earn an income. She's 29 years old and single, and she has three children. Her goals are to grow her business and to finish school.

Note: There are three people in the photograph. A group photo wasn't taken because of social distancing during the Covid-19 health crisis.
