A loan helped to buy wool to expand her business.

05 Santa Isabel 2021 Group's story

The 05 Santa Isabel 2021 communal bank, as part of the Villa Adela regional office, is made up of eight members who are friends and run by a board of directors of which Gimena is the president. The loan they're getting will benefit small-business entrepreneurs like Gimena.

She has a business making shawls in her home. She said she learned this business from a friend who has been in it for four years. The loan she's getting is to expand her capital for a wholesale purchase of wool that she'll get from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz, then sell in her sales stall.

This type of work enables her to earn an income. She's 24 years old. She's in a common-law relationship and has three children. Her goals are for her children to graduate from high school and to have a lot of merchandise.
