A loan helped a single mother to buy farming inputs to improve her production and make more income for her family during this tough economic recession.

Joy's story

Joy is a 45-year-old single mother of two children living in Meru, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises. Through farming, she has made meaningful accomplishments in her life and, like any caring African woman, Joy wants the best for her family.

She is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs to improve her production and make more income for her family during this tough economic recession. One Juhudi Kilimo objective is to increase the ease of accessing farm inputs and income-generating assets for farmers. Through the intervention of Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, fertilizer, pesticides, and other important farm inputs have become more accessible than buying a bottle of water for its members. Joy is looking forward to your warm response to her loan request!
