Rose's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs, which she plans to use to improve production, thus earning more profits to support her family.

Rose's story

Rose is a 35-year-old mother of six school-going children living in Bungoma, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also large agricultural enterprises. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer and a hardworking woman who never gives up despite the ups and downs that she faces in her life.

Rose is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs, which she plans to use to improve her production, thus earning more profits to support her family. The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is the lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival. Rose will be glad that Kiva lenders have supported her at a time when the world is focused on combatting Covid-19.
