01_Meouane Group's story

This "banc villageois" was established in December 2011 and groups together 3 women who live in the same village. They have repaid over 10 loans without difficulty. Their main business is retail.

38-year-old Aïda, the group representative, is standing on the left of the picture and raising her hand. She is married and the mother of 6 children, 5 boys and one girl who all attend school.

Aïda sells cleaning products which she gets at the market in town and resells in her village. She has been in this line of work for 6 years. She plans to use her loan to buy bars of soap, soap powder, liquid soap, bleach, and bleaching products which she will sell door-to-door.

She plans to use her profits to strengthen her business and contribute to the family expenses (food, healthcare), as well as to build her savings with the "banc villageois".

Her profits enable her to meet her needs, to contribute to tontines, and to cover some of her children's expenses.
