Clarita's story

Meet Clarita!

She is a 72 years old proactive Indigenous woman from the Indigenous community of Puerto Lara in East Panama.

Clarita has always been a very proactive woman who has dedicated her life to agriculture and her family. Despite her age, Clarita is known for being a hardworking woman who is a role model in her community for her responsibility and proactivity in local community projects.

Today, Clarita is applying for her first Kiva loan to expand her small plantain farm and increase her production. With the profits of her sales, she is planning to build a house for her family in Puerto Lara, Panama.

Thank you for contributing to the economic growth of women in Indigenous communities of Central America.
