Mulima's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by buying a hairdryer.

Mulima's story

Mulima, aged 33, is an entrepreneur who lives with her husband and four children in Sesheke district in Zambia. She owns a hair salon. Mulima is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business by buying a hairdryer to meet her customers' demands. She plans to use the profit she earns to buy food for her home and to pay her children's school fees.

Mulima will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide. She will facilitate classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build children’s self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
