A loan helped to purchase retail goods to stock up her small kitchen shop and raw materials to cook delicious food to provide for her neighboring customers and increase her income.

Grey Grey's story

Grey Grey is a 37-year-old mother of one daughter who is 24 years old. Her partner works for a local security firm. Her partner supports her business, especially with the heavy lifting of goods. She lives with her partner and daughter in a small shanty apartment, which is located in an urban suburb that is about 5 minutes drive to Port Vila city. Grey Grey's community is very small, and the main industry is food. Making an income off of it has been quite all right in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Grey Grey has asked for a loan to help pay for retail goods to stock up her small kitchen shop and for raw materials so she can cook delicious yet affordable food. She sells the food in a shelter that is situated near her home where employees of nearby offices can buy. With the earned revenue, she will save up so she can pay for a piece of land and build her family their own home. She has been in her business for 2 years.

Grey Grey has been with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd for over 2 years now. This is her third loan. She has been faithful in her previous loan repayments. Through her loans, Grey Grey is empowered to expand so she can better improve her family's living conditions.
