Leontine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for few kilos of dried tobacco which she will cut and resell to her customers.

Leontine's story

Leontine lives in an urban district which is located about a 10 to 15 minute drive from Port Vila city. Her community is very large, and the main industry is agriculture and food. Although Covid-19 has impacted Vanuatu's tourism industry, it has been quite alright for one to earn income.

Leontine is 52 years of age and has three children, ages 15, 9 and 8. All her children are attending school. She has her partner who works at a construction company and lives with her and their children in a small shanty home unit.

Leontine has requested a loan to pay for few kilos of dried tobacco which she will cut and resell to her customers. She wants to increase her quantity as the demand for the product has grown. She also sells ice pops to earn a little income.

These will help increase her revenue, which she will partially use to pay for her children's school fees and save up so she can pay for a piece of land for her family. Leontine has been in her business for over a year now. She dreams of having a storefront so she can sell her products in a place where locals and visitors pass by.

This is Leontine's third loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has faithfully repaid her previous loans on time. Leontine is motivated through her loans to expand her business and become a successful businesswoman.
