George's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase farm inputs for his tea and coffee plantation.

George's story

George is married with five children. He is a farmer who grows tea, coffee and matooke. He was born into a family whose major economic activity was tea farming. He did not abandon that but rather improved it and has continued to practice it. Currently, he has approximately five acres of tea and coffee plantation, which he hopes to expand to at least eight acres.

George has been involved with UGAFODE for more than six years. With the support of his wife, he has been able to build a house and pay school fees for his children from the income obtained from farming tea and coffee and, more recently, pineapples.

He currently has a loan of 8,000,000 Ugandan shillings, which he will use to purchase manure and also expand his tea gardens. He has a ready market and hopes to be a lead producer of quality tea leaves, producing at least 20 tons per month in the next three years. This will enable him to buy more land to expand and participate in other agricultural projects and also build a modern house.
