A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa-making business.

Lavelua's story

Lavelua is a 41-year-old separated woman and mother to her five children. She live with her children at her parent's house. Currently she runs a tapa-making business, where she joins a group of women in their village.

Once every week they make tapas of different sizes, and divide them among them. Lavelua sells her tapas at the local market, to random people in their village and also to relatives overseas. Her husband's sister helps her with taking care of the kids by sending Lavelua's tapas overseas to different buyers.

Lavelua also prepares soft tapas and sells at the local market for extra money. She applied for a loan to buy mulberry for her tapa-making business. Her dream is for an easier life in the future for her children.
