08-Bemet Wouly Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pursue poultry farming and to buy baobab fruit [locally referred to as "monkey bread"], bissap [a drink made from dried hibiscus flowers], and sugar (etc.) to make ice cream.

08-Bemet Wouly Group's story

This group was formed in December of 2001. A group of 21 women, all living in the same village, comprise this group and share good working relationships. They work in retail to improve their living conditions.
Khadidiatou (age 26) represents the group and is shown raising her hand in the photo. She is married and the mother of 5 children. She also is the primary caretaker of 4 additional children. This loan will help per pursue poultry farming and sell chickens. She is also hoping to purchase baobab fruit [locally referred to as "monkey bread"], bissap [a drink made from dried hibiscus flowers], and sugar (etc.) to make ice cream since she has a refrigerator.
She will build up her savings and her business from the loan, and then she plans to buy detergent products in order to grow her business.
