Taalaibubu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seed in order to grow organic produce.

Taalaibubu's story

This sweet 55 year old is Taalaibubu, a widow who is raising three children. She has a secondary education, and owns six cows and a 10-hectare plot of irrigated land on which she grows sugar beets and sweet corn. She is also a medical assistant at the local hospital, but her income from that is insufficient to support her family. And for this reason, she is doing her utmost to develop her farm.

She has a contract to deliver organic sugar beets to a local factory, where they are processed into sugar products. This permits her to put money back into her business on an ongoing basis. After learning that she could obtain a loan from Bai Tushum Bank, using as collateral the contract for future beet deliveries under a Value-Added-Chain arrangement, Taalaibubu has applied for a loan of 168,000 som (KGS) to buy sugar beet seeds. Her goal in this is to increase her beet harvest.

The factory's payments for the beets will be deposited directly into Taalaibubu's bank account, and the loan payments will be automatically deducted. The income generated by this loan will help her to develop her business going forward.
