Madelen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a heavy duty sewing machine, plain white fabric, fabric paints and sewing materials.

Madelen's story

Madelen is a 36 years old mother of three children, ages of 15, 13 and 2. She is currently married and her husband works at the largest (and best known) trust company in Vanuatu, namely Pacific International Trust Company (PITCO).

She lives with her husband and children in their own home which is located in a rural district situated about 10 to 15 minutes drive to Port Vila city. Madelen's community is quite large, and the main industry is agriculture and food. It has been quite alright at times for one to earn a little income as the demand for local food and products has been high.

Madelen has requested a loan to buy a heavy duty sewing machine, plain white fabric, fabric paints and sewing materials which she will stock up her handicraft room to better provide for her customers. She wants to be able to meet up with her customers high demands of new patter designs. With the revenue earned, she will use to pay for her eldest children's school fees.

Madelen learned to make dresses as a little girl from her mother. She has now been in this business for 10 years. This is her third loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has complied with her loan repayments in a timely manner. Through her loans, Madelen is able to expand her business so her children can have something for them when they grow up.
