This group makes up the banc villageois that was created in December, 2011, bringing together some very supportive women who are primarily engaged in business.

FATOUMATA, in the photo, is the representative of the group. She is 44 years old, married, and the mother of 6 children, 4 of whom are boys. She is in the food business. She purchases her goods at the weekly market in her locale and then sells them at retail out of her home.

With her latest loan she plans to buy foodstuffs (bottles of oil, sacks of sugar, packages of tea) at wholesale. She will resell her merchandise at retail out of her home, where most of her business activity takes place.

The profits she realizes will help her husband take care of the family's expenses and also increase her savings in the banc villageois.
