Mere's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy construction items for home repairs, a Kava pounder, Kava, and brown bags.

Mere's story

Agricultural impacts from natural events and disasters most commonly include contamination of water bodies, loss of harvest or livestock, increased susceptibility to disease, and destruction of irrigation systems and other agricultural infrastructure. These impacts can have long-lasting effects on the agricultural production, including crops such as Kava, which require time to mature. Kava is a plant from the pepper family, and its roots are used to make a popular traditional and social drink in Fiji.

Mere has a Kava business that she had to temporarily close during and after tropical cyclone Yasa, which swept through her locality in December 2020. With the economy trying to recover from a recession that resulted in a 20% negative growth, the mother of 4 has decided that this is an opportune time to implement her recovery plan. She needs a loan to buy construction materials to make repairs to her home and to buy more Kava, a grog pounder, and brown bags for packaging.
