A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as nutrient-rich fertilizers and certified seeds, to improve her horticultural crop production.

Ann's story

Ann, age 32, is very clear about what she wants in life. She is determined to get ahead and have a good life. Ann is a smallholder farmer from Eldoret, which is in the Rift valley region of Kenya. She owns a small parcel of farmland where she practices mixed farming. This mother keeps dairy animals and grows maize and horticultural crops. She has many years of farming experience under her belt.

In Kenya, agriculture is one of the most competitive industries, especially due to the high operational costs that are necessary to improve farming. Such costs include land acquisition and inputs, which have always skyrocketed.

Ann has decided to request a loan that she intends to use to buy farm inputs, such as nutrient-rich fertilizers and certified seeds. The loan will help her improve crop production on her farm and generate more income from sales. She is really counting on the help and understanding of lenders because she knows they have got her back.
