Mary's story

Women make a very major contribution in a country’s development. Mary, a woman, is a 46-year-old mother of two children who resides with her family in Eldoret, Kenya, a town that was significantly stuck by the 2007-2008 Kenyan crisis, when violence occurred in the country. She is a resourceful woman and a woman who is very skilled when it comes to mixed dairy and crop farming. Mary has farmed for the past 15 years.

Mary is seeking this loan to buy cereals which she plans to resell and make more profits to support her family during this tough global economic recession. Unlike banks and other local moneylenders, who operate mainly in urban centres, Juhudi Kilimo, a Kiva Field Partner, has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities for different people to access loans. Your loan will go a long way in giving hope to the world during this tough period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
