Salume's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Salume's Group's story

Pictured above is Salume, who is often described as an extremely friendly person. She is 50 years old and has 8 children. As a group leader, she is representing 15 farmers in Mumias District, Kenya.

Salume is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund because this means that she is able to earn enough to feed her family, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Salume says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she joined in 2016, she has been able to consistently feed her family, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Salume will use the profits from this season to send her children to school.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant 8.25 acres. The group will also receive 1 solar light.
