Joan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs to improve production and support her family.

Joan's story

Joan, a repeat Kiva borrower, is 23 and the mother of two children in Eldoret, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands which favor large-scale grain farming, dairy and horticultural farming. She has never tired of pursuing her dreams. She has been a mixed dairy and crop farmer for the past two years, which enabled her to support her children.

She is seeking a loan to buy farming inputs that she will use to improve her production and support her family. Juhudi Kilimo’s partnership with Kiva is an effective tool for reducing poverty in Kenya, especially among women, since Juhudi Kilimo is one of the central actors in the rural areas. A loan to her will be a proper way of uplifting her during this period when the world is preparing to celebrate International Women’s Day season.
