Irine's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Irine's Group's story

Irine, pictured above, has been a farmer for 5 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 15 farmers in Mumias District. She is 46 years old, married and has 2 children.

Irine likes to think of herself as a very experienced farmer. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2016 and decided to represent her group because she was just proposed by the team. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Irine plans to use the profits from this coming season to repair her home.

In total, Irine’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 7.75 acres of land. Given that a member of the group will also be purchasing a solar light with this loan, the group will also receive 1 solar light.
