Mary's story

Mary is the 63-year old mother of three school-going children. She lives in Eldoret, Kenya an area in Kenya where it is easy to enjoy temperate climates that favor maize and crop farming.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is in the forefront in combating this pandemic through supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs during this difficult period.

Mary is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs to improve her crop production and make more income to support her family during this global health crisis. A loan to her will be a proper way of uplifting her during this period when the world is preparing to celebrate International Women’s Day.
