A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as fertilizer to enable her to grow more corn.

Sheilah's story

Sheilah, age 30, is a borrower hoping for a prosperous 2021. She is a mother, and a dairy and crop farmer living in Eldoret, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands that favor large-scale grain farming and crop farming. She also plants trees.

Sheilah is very hopeful that Kiva lenders will support her until she gets on the right path to success. The Eldoret area has good climatic conditions that favor corn crop farming. These conditions are why Sheilah is currently seeking a loan to buy farming inputs such as fertilizer to enable her to grow more corn to reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a smallholder farmer and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her remote village, is very challenging, but Sheilah feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like herself.

Through your loan, all her dreams and her resolutions for 2021 will be fulfilled.
