Laura's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped Pandere Shoes market our expandable footwear after setbacks from covid in 2020.

Laura's story

I am one of three Pandere Shoe founders. All three of us live in Anchorage, Alaska (photo: Ayla-left, Celia-middle, laura-right). We teamed up because we saw ourselves on the leading edge of something that could impact millions of lives...All over the world. We believe our efforts have restored dignity, comfort, and mobility to people with hard-to-fit feet. Finding shoes has been a lifelong problem for me. I have had lymphedema for more than 40 years. Edemas, diabetes, pregnancy, arthritis, and a host of other conditions, can cause one or both feet to swell or just not fit well into regular shoes. It is incredibly frustrating for people like me to try to find shoes that will fit. Traditional shoes are not adjustable in the right places. Our shoes will be beautiful and have given people their lives back. All three of us believe that entrepreneurship is the best avenue for social change. We think kiva can help us connect with our supporters, so they can be part of our journey.
