Marta Cecilia's story

Marta Cecilia is a 57-year old micro-entrepreneur who lives in Cartagena with her family. She learned her work because she needed to generate an income to support her family and there were very few opportunities on the market. This entrepreneur envisioned her business plan and opened a restaurant. Her father suggested she serve construction workers, neighbors, and travelers through their area. She offers her clients homemade breakfasts and lunches. Her daughter is her primary support.

This work has given her excellent results and has improved her family's living conditions. Marta considers it a primary source of employment that is benefitting her society. With the COVID-19 pandemic, her sales have been affected, and with this, her income

She is currently applying for a Kiva loan, her first financing from Fundación Santo Domingo. These resources will be invested in the purchase of meat, oil, rice, grains, plantains, disposable goods, beverages, and more. She dreams of having her own store and being able to offer her clients quality service so her income can increase and her family can improve their quality of life. Support her with a loan so she will be a success!
